I could steel wool and scrape it off, but the black painted lettering would come off as well. The lettering is on a dirty part of the chassis that's not very close to the rust. A finer tooth plywood blade gives a better cut. This was used for the chassis in a guitar amp. Also a picture of the outer wood box for the guitar amp. The box got covered with tolex (vinyl covering) and I made a Lexan front plate.
